Abstract

This paper looks at the question of representing small finite groups as groups of transformations of a compact surface of genus two or more. Transformations which reverse the orientation of the surface are allowed. In particular, we will draw the portrait of a group of order 48 with symmetric genus 2 which is the image of a hybrid triangle group with orientation reversing elements.
