Abstract
Planar construction in design integrates aesthetic, spatial choreography, structural rigor and the mathematics of geometry and proportioning. This paper will explore the crossover knowledge and perception addressed at various levels of planar expression. The structure of this presentation will be to examine the work of one multi-tiered studio project in which students approach, synthesize and construct a variety of complex planar and spatial exercises and fold them into one project.
