Abstract
"Applied mathematics" is not a phrase "Coxeter" evokes in anyone's mind, and probably never in his own. But H.S.M. Coxeter appreciated -- indeed, delighted in -- the symbiotic relation between polytopes and crystals. His classic Regular Polytopes is indispensable for the mathematical study of crystals, never more than now.
