Abstract

This workshop will provide participants with knowledge that the combination of mathematics and art can be useful in developing interest and understanding for a variety of other subjects. The connections developed from the creative use of geometry to develop artistic patterns, called tessellations, can be connected to the patterns existing in science, English, history, and, of course, math and art. This workshop was developed to provide educators with information about tessellations and offer a variety of methods, materials, and opportunities to integrate this amalgam of mathematics and art to any class curriculum.
